Brawl breaks out between student unions in PU

Summary Pashtun council held a protest outside the VC office to seek approval for their demands.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – One student injured outside Kashmir conference in Punjab University as a brawl broke out between student unions which raised questions on the security of Jamia.

The brawl started after the collision of a car and motorbike. Both sides attacked each other with sticks and poles where one of the students sustained injuries. As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy police force reached the spot.

An important conference was held on the issue of Kashmir in the Faisal Auditorium of the university in which Prime Minister Azad Kashmir was the chief guest. Students staged a protest in front of the vice chancellor (VC) office.

After the dispute, the Pashtun council held a protest outside the VC office to seek approval for their demands. The administration assured investigation and disciplinary proceedings against abusive students who tortured the demonstration, after which the sit-in was terminated.
