Judge video scandal: FIA seeks physical remand of all three accused

Summary Nasir Janua is accused of blackmailing, pressurizing and bribing a judge.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday presented all three accused before district and sessions court involved in Arshad Malik video scandal case where court approved their five-day physical remand.

Nasir Janjua, Khurram Yousaf and Ghulam Jilani, three accused in the Arshad Malik video scandal, were produced before Civil Judge Shaista Kundi. FIA sought physical remand of all three accused on which Judge Shaista Kundi asked for the reason for it.

FIA prosecutor expressed that a physical remand is needed to make recovery. Janjua’s lawyer Rizwan Abbasi opposed the request saying that all the allegations made on his client are weak which does cannot allow physical remand.

Nasir Janua is accused of blackmailing, pressurizing and bribing a judge.

Advocate Rizwan Abbasi said that Nasir Janjua had nothing to do with videos of Judge Arshad Malik’s meetings with Nawaz Sharif and Hussain Nawaz. Maryam Nawaz also claimed that the video was produced by Nasir Butt.

Judge Shaista Kundi remarked that Nasir Janjua hasn’t been inquired so far and an interrogation won’t hurt anyone. Later, Rizwan Abbasi also agreed for the physical remand of Nasir Janjua which the court approved and handed over the accused to the FIA for five days.
