Prime minister, in his address to the National Assembly on May 9, announced formation of a probe committee under Adjutant General Javed Iqbal. Members of the Senate expressed their dissatisfaction over the formation of the committee. They opined to conduct probe under a military general is not enough. They said US operation was attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty. A judicial or parliamentary body should have been formed, they argued.How a military general can probe it when there is a possibility of pressure from many sides, they objected.Such inquiries have been held in the past without any outcome, they added.
