Summary Matters pertaining to power-sharing between the PML-Q and PPP are rapidly entering the final stages.
According to sources, the next round of talks between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) would be held in a few days time in which the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani would also be participating. The power sharing agreement would be finalised in the talks. PML-Q’s involvement in the cabinet, the next senate, seat adjustment between the PPP and PML-Q in Azad Kashmir and the next general elections are included in the proposed agreement.On the other hand, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar also met with the PML-Q Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. Matters regarding participation in government were discussed in the meeting. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain insisted Dr Farooq Sattar to join the federal cabinet but he said that MQM would not join the cabinet until all the concerns are cleared. He also said that MQM does not have any objections for PML-Q’s involvement in the cabinet.
