LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and police on Monday to investigate the marriage scandal according to the law.
According to Dunya News, the LHC heard the appeal on detainment of Chinese residents. Defendant Liu Fei adopted the stance of getting harassed by police and FIA without any legal license. “Our passports and mobiles have been detained by police as we came to Pakistan on effective visas for business. Police is harassing us just for money,” he said
Assistant Attorney General Sajid Munawar Qureshi represented the Federal government in the scandal case. He took a stance that law is equal for everyone, even for the foreigners in Pakistan. He asserted that appeal should be rejected as no Chinese national was harassed.
He expressed that they will abide by the law while conducting investigation.
Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem rejected the appeal in Lahore High Court today.

Earlier this month, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 15 Chinese nationals and 22 others in continuation of its crackdown on the gangs involved in fake marriages with Pakistani girls for trafficking them to China.
Chinese Embassy in Pakistan denied the media reports that several Chinese nationals were taken into custody for alleged fraud, forgery of documents, human trafficking, sale of organ and forcing Pakistani women into prostitution after contracting marriages.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal said, “The government of China had offered all possible cooperation on the issue and relevant authorities from both Chinese and Pakistan governments are in close contact on the issue.
