Summary The chief justice of Pakistan said that the judiciary did not have resources to dispense justice.
Addressing the last session of the National Judicial Conference in Islamabad, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that it was a historical conference that was held to bring reforms in the judicial system and to remove the flaws of the National Judicial Policy. He said that people should be given instant and cheap justice.The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees protection to every institution and the lawyers’ movement have restored people’s faith in judiciary, the CJP said. He welcomed the arrival of an Indian judicial delegation in Pakistan.In a 9-point declaration before the suo moto action, the preliminary investigation report would be presented to the high court. It said that information technology should be used and plagiarism should also be considered as theft.
