MQM chief Altaf Hussain has demanded the government to call a round-table conference of all parties – political and religious – to figure out a plan to stop the drone attacks in the country. Condemning the US drone attack in North Waziristan, Altaf said that these attacks were violating the country’s security and sovereignty and no countryman would allow the US to hit targets inside Pakistan. In a statement issued from London, he said that army leadership and officials of other security institutions should also be invited to the conference. He said that civil and military leadership should take bold decisions in the larger national interest. He suggested that a referendum should be held to know people’s opinion on drone attacks. He said that all the parties should shun their differences to resolve the issue.
