The Punjab government gave a permission of holding a public meeting in Menar-e-Pakistan after the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) took the security responsibility for its public gathering.Having talks with the local administration, the SIC gave a written assurance to the authorities about the security responsibility of the gathering and exempted the government from providing security to the crowd. Several SIC leaders and workers are reaching the venue to attend the public meeting.Earlier, the authorities stopped the SIC workers for making arrangements for the gathering and arrested its several workers, who protested against the decision. However, the police freed all arrested workers after some time.
