A two-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, on Friday declared a Joint Venture Agreement between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Multi Professional Cooperative Housing Society for the development of 54 acres of land located in Islamabad’s Sector E-11 as null and void.In a suo motu notice, the Supreme Court ordered the CDA to take back the possession of the land from the company and complete the project.The CDA chairman has been directed to ensure the implementation of the court directions and submit a compliance report within one month. The chief justice allowed the company to adopt a legal course of action for the recovery of its dues from the CDA.
