Summary A petition for the contempt of court has been filed against KESC in the Sindh High Court.
In the Sindh High Court, a division bench comprising of Chief Justice Mushir Alam & Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi was hearing petition filed by Syed Iqbal Kazmi against the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) for contempt of court.The petitioner stated that KESC had ignored the Supreme Court orders issued on September 30, 2010, which directed the company to issue notices in Urdu, English and Sindhi language, in at least one of the leading newspapers, informing the public about the load shedding plans. He stated that KESC had ignored the orders and had not issued any notices in newspapers and was continuing with unannounced load shedding.The petitioner requested the court to initiate the procedure of contempt of court against the KESC Managing director Gohar Tabish. During the hearing, the KESC lawyers said under oath that they will submit their answers in the next hearing.
