NAB plea bargain law: SC sets deadline for amendment in watchdog's rules

Summary NAB law should be amended till February 2019 otherwise the court has right to nullify the law.

 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya New) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday has set deadline for the amendment in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) plea bargain law.

Justice Azmat Saeed resumed the hearing of suo motu notice and said that the plea bargain law of NAB should be amended till February 2019 otherwise the court has right to nullify the law.

He said that the court will take notice of the watchdog rules if it remains unamended. He asserted that to return black money voluntarily means to accept the committed crime.

Farooq Naik told the court that a parliamentary committee is working to amend the law, however, some more time is required.

Justice Azmat adjourned the hearing till first week of February.
