Summary Iran considers Pakistan as an important brotherly neighboring Muslim country.
TEHRAN (Web Desk) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday stressed for greater cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in diverse fields including trade, commerce, energy and security.
He said this in his meeting with National Assembly Speaker Asad Qasier who called on him in Tehran on the sidelines of the second Speakers Conference.
The Iranian President said that his country considers Pakistan as an important brotherly neighboring Muslim country.
Rouhani said that the bonds of friendship between the two countries have been maintained irrespective of any government in power both in Iran and Pakistan due to commonality of culture.
He said the two countries have deep links and these are rooted in history and rich civilization.
Speaking on the occasion, the National Assembly speaker said that Pakistan enjoys close and cordial relations with Iran.
Recalling the recent statement of the Iranian Supreme leader in support of the Kashimiris, Asad Qaiser thanked the Iranian government for supporting the Kashmir cause.
He said Kashmir is longstanding dispute which should be resolved in accordance with UN Security council resolutions.
The Speaker National Assembly also separately held meetings with Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga of Afghanistan Abdul Raouf Ibrahimi, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People s Republic of China Chen Zhu and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin in Tehran and discussed bilateral relations them.
