Summary Prime Minister Gilani has approved a new service structure for doctors and para-medical staff.
The prime minister said that laws would be amended to regularise the doctors working on contract basis. Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists and para-medical staff will be benefitted from the new service structure. According to the new service structure, new Grade 1-8 has been allocated to para-medical staff while Grade 8-13 has been designated for medical practitioners. Initially, medical practitioners will work in hospitals in Grade-9 which will be equivalent to BPS-17.
