Summary CJP said the court has right to review the case of public appointments.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday summoned former Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) managing direction (MD) Attaullah Haq Qasmi and directed him to appear before the court in four hours.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar heard the suo motu case against former PTV managing direction (MD) in Supreme Court.
The counsel of former MD PTV, Ayesha Hamid raised objection and said that the government is not authorized to intervene in the case pertaining to unfair appointment of chairman PTV.
In his remarks, CJP said that the government violated the authority of appointment right. Should the court turn a blind eye in the matter? he inquired.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial argued that there would be some rule to use governmental authorities.
CJP said the court has right to review the case of public appointments. He also noticed that Qasim was granted age relaxation for the post.

He directed Qasim to handover the documents by himself which were previously submitted by his counsel.
