PTI's Fauzia Kasuri resigns citing discontent with policies

(Dunya News) – One of the founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Fauzia Kasuri, on Wednesday tendered her resignation to the party head Imran Khan citing discontent with current policies.

“It should come as no surprise to you that I have decided to leave the PTI,” the letter reads which was submitted by Kasuri.

“Furthermore, you opted to hand the reins of the party to those electables we fought against since our inception, at the cost of workers who in some cases laid down their lives for the cause,” the letter states.

Thanking party chairman Imran Khan for providing her a platform, she said she had grown disenchanted with the direction the party had taken post 2013. Kasurisaid the the PTI was longer representative of the aspirations of millions of citizens wanting transformative change.

Wishing luck to Imran Khan, she expressed hope that the PTI chief would strive to bring about the very change he once vowed to bring if presented the opportunity to form government.
