LAHORE (Dunya News) – A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) over anti-judiciary remarks.

The petitioner in its plea filed in LHC stated that the federal minister used derogatory language against the honorable judiciary.

He contended that despite the court orders, Ahsan Iqbal’s anti-judiciary speech was broadcasted on television channels.

The petitioner further stated that the regulatory authority has failed to stop the anti-judiciary speech.

The petitioner prayed the court to take action against the minister and PEMRA.
