Summary A tree plantation campaign has been launched in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Syed Pir Karam Ali Shah on Tuesday inaugurated the campaign by planting a tree in the Governors House.Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah and Speaker Wazir Baig were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that unbridled deforestation was affecting the environment. He said it was the need of the hour to plant more trees. The Forest Department will plant 350,000 trees during the current year.It is pertinent to mention that Speaker Wazir Baig had forty winks during the ceremony.
