Summary Senator raises issue of missing persons in committee meeting
The Standing Committee of the Senate for Interior has directed the Foreign Ministry to ensure the release of 11 Pakistanis who have been made hostage by Somali pirates.The standing committee meeting was told on Saturday that 780 people from various nationalities of the world, including 11 Pakistanis, had been made hostage by Somali pirates. An additional secretary of the Foreign Ministry told the meeting that pirates had agreed to release Pakistanis for $3 million and the ship owners were ready to pay the money. The meeting also discussed the issue of missing persons in Balochistan. Senator Abdul Malik told the meeting that 138 dead bodies of the missing persons had been found and a committee meeting should also be called in Quetta to discuss the issue.
