Summary PTI and PPP have fielded their separate candidates for leader of the opposition slot in the Senate.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have fielded their separate candidates for the slot of leader of the opposition in the Senate.
It is interesting to mention here the both PPP and PTI had joined hands together a couple of days ago to defeat Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-L) candidates for Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman elections.
The PPP candidate for the opposition leader in the Senate Sherry Rehman on Thursday claimed the support of 33 senators and said that the opposition leader in the upper house will be from PPP. In her tweet, Sherry Rehman also thanked political parties and senators for their support.
On the other hand, the PTI candidate for the opposition leader in the Senate, Azam Swati while talking in Dunya News programme ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath’ on Thursday said that the PTI will win the opposition leader slot in Senate with the support of MQM-P and FATA senators.
