Summary US State Department Spokesperson PJ Crowley said that Raymond Davis was a US Consulate employee.
Talking to journalists, PJ Crowley said that the hearing of Davis’s case regarding his diplomatic immunity would be held on March 14. He said that US had strategic relationship with Pakistan and wanted to see it as a prosper and stable country. Talking about the visit of US Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Marc Grossman, he said that the main purpose of Grossman’s visit was to condole the death of Shahbaz Bhatti with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.Earlier, the Lahore High Court chief justice rejected a request by the United States to consider it as party in the Davis case.
