Summary Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the government adopted tougher stance on the issue of US national Raymond Davis' immunity than former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The PM said that MQM was one of the allies of the coalition government.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the International Seerat Conference in Islamabad, Gilani said that the government was against drone attacks but “We can’t have a war on the issue.” He said that all the diplomatic channels were being used to convince the US to stop violating sovereignty of Pakistan.He said that Shahbaz Bhatti’s assassination was a conspiracy to create rift between Muslim and Christian communities in Pakistan.
