Summary An application has been filed with the Supreme Court Registry in Lahore, seeking early hearing of a petition concerning the construction of Kalabagh Dam.
The petitioner, Barrister Zafarullah, submitted that a petition had been pending with the Supreme Court for the 11 years and the delay in its hearing was a direct violation of the judicial policy. On the other hand, he said, due to the non-construction of Kalabagh Dam, the electricity load shedding had increased which was disrupting the everyday life of the people. He stated that the court should start the hearing of the petition at the earliest.
