Summary Differences between Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) started to grow as after Zulfiqar Mirzas statement, the MQM on Monday announced that they would boycott the Sindh Assembly session.
The MQM’s coordination committee members said that after the statement made by Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, they could not work in collaboration with the PPP, hence the MQM representatives of the Sindh Assembly would boycott the session. Earlier on Sunday, the Muttahida Rabita Committee members said that Mirza had admitted that he was the chief of terrorist groups; therefore, the MQM might quit the provincial government. In a joint statement, Rabita Committees members, Muhammad Anwar, Anis Advocate and Muhammad Ishfaque, said that they had already insisted that the criminal elements of the so-called People’s Peace Committee enjoyed the favour of the Sindh ministers. Now with Mirza’s statement, “the cat is out of bag”, they said. They said that it was the right of the Sindh people to question whether Mirza deserved to be a home minister. They claimed that it was an open secret that the peace committee terrorists were involved in the Shershah tragedy; therefore, the MQM Rabita Committee should take notice of Mirza’s confessions and quit the Sindh government.
