Summary Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Sunday that he had bid farewell to the politics of apology and his party had to sit on the opposition benches due to their role as friendly-opposition.
Addressing a party workers’ convention in Lahore, Fazl said that unfortunately, the parties were politicking to gain power.He vowed to defend the blasphemy law if the government tried to amend it in the backdrop of federal minority affairs minister Shahbaz Bhatti’s assassination.He said an undeclared martial law had been imposed on parts of in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) while innocent people were being targeted in the drone attacks.He claimed that the level of corruption was minimal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as compare to other provinces.
