LAHORE (Dunya News)- Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) leader and leader of opposition in the parliament Syed Khurshid Shah on Friday regretted premature reaction of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor on Khawaja Saad Rafique’s statement.

He was talking to media here in Lahore today (Friday).

“There was nothing objectionable in Khawaja Saad Rafique’s statement on which ISPR DG gave immediate response. Each word of Pakistan Army carries weight as an institution. ”, stated Shah.

Shah reiterated that PPP supports Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) stance on Model Town massacre while adding at the same time, “PPP does not practice politics of sit-ins”.

Shah told reporters that PPP backs Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) merger with KPK.

While responding to a question on Sharifs’ visit of Saudi Arabia, Shah expressed concerns and stresses on making independent policies.

“We have Constitution and are nuclear power”, pronounced Shah.

“National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) back then in 2007 had brought democracy whereas current NRO deals with the personal interests of Sharifs”, asserted Shah.
