Summary SCP was complained to by FIA DG earlier of lack of cooperation on govt's part in this issue.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has taken a suo moto notice over forensic audit issue of housing societies across the country.
Reportedly, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan had written to the CJP in this regard after he was informed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that provincial as well as the federal governments were not cooperating in the matter.
The top court had earlier instructed the FIA to conduct forensic audit of housing schemes across Pakistan.
However, a report filed with the court by FIA Director General (DG) complained of lack of support from the government and expressed helplessness. Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) was requested by the federal agency to order for cooperation of the government.
The latest development in the issue today surfaced when CJP took suo moto action and registrar was directed to schedule a date for hearing of the case.
