Summary The increase in petroleum product prices has been challenged in the Lahore high court. The new prices have been implemented from 1st of March.

Advocate Mateen ul Haq Chaudhry has filed an application in the Lahore high court challenging the decision to increase the petroleum product prices. His stance was that the increase is an added burden in an already difficult time for the people and the court should pass an order against the increase in petroleum product pricesThe applicant has previously filed 5 applications regarding the increase in petroleum product prices which are still pending. According to a notification, issued by OGRA, petrol price has increased by Rs 7.33 per liter and reached Rs 80.19 per liter. Diesel prices up by Rs 7.76 per liter to close at Rs 86.09 per liter. According to new prices, the HOBC price has surged by Rs 8.98 to Rs 95.25 per liter. The prices of light diesel reached Rs 73.21 per liter with a hike of Rs 6.60 per liter. The prices of kerosene oil reached Rs 77.95 per liter.
