Summary Doctors in all government hospital in Multan have gone on strike after their negotiations with the Punjab Health secretary failed.
Operation theaters and outdoor sections of all government hospitals were closed and patients are facing severe difficulties. The strike was called by the Young Doctors Association and Pakistan Medical Association. The doctors said that they called the strike after their talks with the Punjab Health secretary could not reach a conclusion. They said that only emergency wards would continue operating during the strike and the government would be responsible for the troubles of patients. The doctors are demanding a raise in their salaries and said that they would continue their protest till their demand would not be met.
