Summary Despite the presence of President Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi, the office of Governor Sindh has been vacant for the past 24 hours.
Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan and Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro left the country to go on foreign tour due to which the office of governor has been vacant. Constitution and legal experts say that according to the constitution, the office of governor cannot be left vacant for even a minute. According to Article 104 of the constitution, the president can appoint the deputy speaker or any other person at the office as acting governor.Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza Syeda said that no official notification has been sent to her for the appointment of acting governor. She said that she is the acting deputy speaker for which she received a notification. The assembly secretary sent a notice to the speaker Sindh assembly for a foreign tour from the 27th of February till the 4th of March.
