LHC acquits woman in murder case after 18 years in prison

Summary Rani Bibi who was serving life impronment for murdering her husband was acquitted by the LHC.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday acquitted a woman in murder case of her husband after spending 18 years in jail.

Rani Bibi, a resident of Chiniot, was awarded life sentence on charges of murdering her husband and spent 18 years in prison. But LHC on Wednesday acquitted her in the case. Her father Muhammad Amir, who was also serving the jail term died two years ago in the prison.

Rani Bibi was nominated in her husband Asghar murder case by Asghar’s brother in 1998, Rani’s father, brother and a cousin were also nominated in the case.
