Duting the meeting, majority of Shura members criticized JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and rejected to join Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.
Talking to the media after the meeting, JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq formally announced electoral alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for next general elections and ruled out joining the MMA.
Maulana Samiul Haq said that PTI is not a secular party and its chief Imran Khan is working for the promotion of Islam. He further said that both PTI and JUI-S will contest next election on their own party symbols.
