According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Tehmina Janjua, Pakistan is keenly watching the situation in Libya and the Foreign Office formed a task force to monitor the situation in Libya. The spokesperson said that the Foreign Office is maintaining a constant contact with its embassy in Tripoli as well as in neighboring countries. She also asked the Pakistanis living in Libya to keep in contact with the embassy. According to sources in the Libyan embassy in Islamabad, some 18,000 Pakistanis are living in Libya and 7,000 are only present in Benghazi city. Sources said that 25 Pakistani students are also stranded in Libya. Pakistani embassy in Tripoli has started the registration process, sources added.
