SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) – Member of National Assembly (MNA) Mian Javed Latif among entourage was wounded as protesters belonging to religious parties clashed with security forces on Saturday in the federal capital.
Reportedly, the parliamentarian was shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical aid. The clashes ensued expiration of government’s deadline given to the protesters to end nearly 20-day sit-in at Faizabad Interchange.
District administration earlier today wrote for deployment of Pakistan Rangers and army in the capital to control the tensions.

Protesters belonging to Sunni Tehreek and Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah had demanded law minister Zahid Hamid to resign for the sit-in protest to end however, in one of the his recent statements, interior minister Ahsan Iqbal cleared that the state would not succumb to illegal demands of a group.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) had given an ultimatum to the government and summoned an explanation from the interior minister for not being able to end the protest that had crippled movement at one of the entry points of the capital.
However, the deadline was pushed by the high court as interior minister had claimed that talks would end the outstanding issue. It should be mentioned here that around five meetings between the two sides end inconclusively.
In another like incident, a local was killed in clashes outside former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar s residence.
