Summary The Supreme Court has asked the Parliamentary Committee for judges appointment to submit a report to the court about the reasons for denying extension to four additional judges of the Lahore High Court.

Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq withdrew his name as the public prosecutor. He said that being a member of the judicial commission, he is a litigant in the case. Petitioner Makhdoom Ali Khan told the court that the Parliamentary Committee is bound by the 19th Constitutional Amendment to state written reasons for denying extension to a judge within 14 days. The attorney general told the court that the committee had already submitted its reasons to the judicial commission. The court ordered that the reasons should be submitted to the court immediately.
