Summary Industries in Faisalabad are facing an acute gas shortage for three days that has paralyzed more than 450 industrial units of the city.
Some 100,000 daily wages workers also have no work due to the absence of gas. Gas supply to the industries in Faisalabad is suspended for four days a week under the gas supply management plan.The industrialists said that four days of load shedding in a week has crippled the industrial production.The Sui Southern Gas Company authorities said that no reduction occurred in the demand of gas as the weather remained cold in the country. Therefor, the gas shortfall is not shrinking and the gas load shedding will continue in the last week of February as well. The Sui Southern Gas authorities have called a meeting of textile industry representatives to finalize the load shedding schedule for March.
