Summary Vegetable prices fluctuate in Karachi due to increased difference in supply and demand.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Tomato price has reduced from Rs 200 per kg to Rs 150 per kg, Vegetable Market Association claims that the price of tomato fell due to the increased tomato import from Iran.
On the other hand, the price of Onion has skyrocketed to Rs 80 per kg while the prices of Ginger and Garlic increased by Rs 10, reaching Rs 160 in total.
Consumers claim that the reduction in the vegetable production in the country and a fragile policy are the reasons for the prices to become too high. A reduced crop production decreases the product supply in the market that increases the demand as well as the price.
