Summary PTI chief criticises Sharif family for not appearing before NAB

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan once again criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ministers for their continued assertions that Sharif family will not appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) until they get a decision from the Supreme Court of Pakistan for their review petition filed against the panamagate verdict, reported Dunya News.

“How can PML-N ministers claim Sharifs will not appear before NAB?,” he tweeted. He further said that which law allows for such remarks. Khan said that Sharif family cannot choose the mode of investigation for itself. “Have they forgotten they are the accused?,” he tweeted. He said that only Supreme Court of Pakistan has the right to review the decision not the Sharif family.

Sharif family had failed to appear before the anti-graft body for three consecutive times in the space of a week. Earlier on August 18, NAB had summoned the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz.

However, they failed to appear before the body. The Sharif familys legal team coveyed to NAB in a letter that their clients would not join the investigations until they get a decision from Supreme Court on the review petition filed against Supreme Court’s July 28 Panama case verdict.
