Summary PPP leadership has decided not to support government’s steps to amend Article 62, 63.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party on Wednesday has decided not to support government’s steps to amend Article 62, 63 of the Constitution, Dunya News reported

The decision was taken at a meeting of senior leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which was held at the Zardari House in Islamabad. Former president Asif Ali Zardari and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto presided over the meeting.

Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, Aitzaz Ahsan, former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Nayyar Bukhari, Farhat Ullah Babar, Latif Khosa, Sherry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Qaira, Sabir Baloch, Taj Haider, Saleem Mandviwalla and Mustafa Nawaz Khokar were also present in the meeting.

The meeting also reviewed current political situation in the country as well as the situation arising after US President Donald Trump remarks about Pakistan during his new Afghanistan strategy speech.

The meeting also decided that the PPP will not enter into any kind of dialogue with the government under the prevailing situation and will not support the government move to to amend Article 62, 63 of the Constitution.
