Summary Gujranwala police managed to recover 25,000 kites, 4,000 rolls of chemical threads and fire-works material which was to be used in preparations of basant festival; where as police has arrested one suspect.
Satellite Town police raided the area of Farid Town and recovered 25,000 kites, 4,000 rolls of chemical threads and fire-works material stored in a house. Police also arrested a suspect known as Tahir; where as another companion of the suspect known as Khawar managed to flee from the scene. During interrogation, the suspect told police that this material recovered was being prepared for the basant to be held in Lahore and it was worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Police has registered cases against the accused and a search for the fled suspect is also being carried out.
