Summary The potential release of Raymond Davis which was supported by statements of Fauzia Wahab has sparked protest. The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam led protests in Mansoora near Multan road in Lahore.
The people in the protest chanted slogans against the Pakistani government and Raymond Davis. They demanded that Raymond should be punished according to the laws of Pakistan. Syed Munawar Hasan while addressing the protesters said that the PPP should take action against the statements made by Fauzia Wahab, the statements made by Farhatullah Babar are not enough and he added that Pakistan does not run on American aid.Syed Munawar Hasan said that if Raymond Davis is released without doing any justice then we will rock the presidential palace. Fauzia Wahab has out raged the 16 crore people in Pakistan by saying that he has the right to diplomatic immunity. The government rather than succumbing under pressure should handle the situation confidently.
