Summary Electricity is not restored in Quetta and 14 other districts in Baluchistan even after 11 days. On the other hand resident are still facing low gas pressures in the extreme cold weathers.
According to KESCO and NTDC, work on the two electricity towers is almost near completion. The two electricity towers were destroyed on 5th February near Abgam, when miscreants blew the tower with explosive materials.The province is facing an electricity of shortage 1250MW and as a result Quetta is facing electricity shortage of about 6 hours where other districts are facing load shedding of up to 16 hours. The officials say that the repair work will be concluded soon and electricity supply will be restored bring down the load shedding hours.On the other hand, as the cold weather is intensifying the country with a fresh spell of rain and snowfall on mountainous areas, gas supply is creating lots of problems for the residents. They complain that the pressure of gas is too low for any kinds of use hence they have trouble cooking food, heating the water and keeping warm.
