ISLAMABAD (Roznama Dunya)- Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday was informed that amount recovered by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is transferred into chairman’s account after verdict of the court which is then submitted in national exchequer after deduction of 20pc service charges, reported Roznama Dunya.
Syed Khurshid Shah chaired the session of PAC which was attended by Sheikh Rohail, Arshad Khan Lighari, Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Raja Javed Ikhlas, Sardar Ashiq Gopang, Syed Naveed Qamar, Shahida Akhter Ali, Dr Arif Alvi, senator Azam Sawati, Mian Abdul Manan, Perviaz Malik, Khalid Maqbool Sadiqui, Senator Tanveer Khan, and Dr Darshan.
While reviewing objections of Ministry of Housing over annual audit 2013-14, PAC directed officials of aforementioned ministry to probe the matter in depth and submit report after completion.
The officials apprised PAC that national exchequer suffered loss of Rs59.5 million due to tampering in biding of a highway construction project in Chakwal District.
Raja Javed Ikhlas said a heavy amount, ranging Rs5-7 billion rupees was embezzled in schemes under the PWP. The works on the projects in the said constituencies were stopped, but the payments were made, he added.
Khurshid Shah asked officials to launch a probe against the culprits.
