Summary A bus carrying people from a wedding procession caught fire due to which 13 people including women and children got killed, while others sustained injuries.
The bus was carrying people who attended a wedding procession and were returning to Rawalpindi from Narowal. This bus stopped near Jhelum because of some technical problem occurred due to rain. When driver tried to start the engine of the bus again, it suddenly caught fire. Upon information of this incident, the rescue teams rushed to the site. Till now, the rescue officials have managed to recover 11 dead bodies from the charred bus; where as various injured have been shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Rawalpindi. Some eyewitnesses claim that this incident happened due to explosion in the cylinder; while others say that some fire-works material was present in the bus which became the cause of fire.
