(Web Desk) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Babar Awan has gave up his senatorial seat to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asserting on Friday that Imran Khan is to become the the next Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan.
"I part ways with the PPP after a long-standing membership of 21 years," Dawn quoted Awan.
While addressing a gathering where Awan pledged his support to PTI, Imran Khan said that rulers were taking advantage of corrupt system. He alleged that ‘Godfather’ has ‘captured’ all the state institutions.
Earlier on Thursday, PTI Chairman had claimed in a media talk that one of the senior politicians would join PTI by tomorrow. Imran Khan also laid bare that he would invite Sheikh Rasheed to join PTI.
The party chief also termed the year 2017 as the ‘election year’ and he congratulated his party leaders in advance over their alleged win in Panama case.
He went on to say that in case the Qatari letter is rejected, the entire case would end.
Khan said that his ex-wife Jemimah had provided all the banking transactions to prove him innocent in the top court and on the contrary, no evidence was presented by Sharif family.
PTI Chairman expressed that the government was trying to make JIT controversial and if Nawaz Sharif remained the premier, he would not let the institutions perform their duties.
