Unhygienic products: Three sweets workrooms sealed in Lahore, Rawalpindi

Summary 1,240 kilograms of sweets and 680 kilograms of oil was disposed of during the raids

LAHORE/RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Law enforcers have sealed three workrooms in Lahore and Rawalpindi for unhygienic production of sweets.

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out operations in two major cities and sealed three manufacturing sites after cockroaches and worms were found in sweets that were to be sold.





Reportedly, two of the factories sealed are situated in Rawalpindi while one in Lahore. Food regulators raided production units of Alfalah Bakers on Qadeer Khan Road and that of Wali Bakers. Both the units were sealed.

At least 1,240 kilograms of sweets and 680 kilograms of oil was disposed off during the raids.

Director General (DG) of PFA said that Arabian Delights situated on Wahdat Road in Lahore was sealed for sale of unhygienic sweets. Reportedly, 400 kilograms of substandard khoya was disposed off while insects were found in the sweets.
