Summary Electricity still not restored after 4 days in Quetta and 14 other districts. The work on the damaged towers is underway. Gas supply is also disrupted after the explosion damaged the gas pipeline 4 days ago. Residents face difficulty due to non availability of gas and electricity.
According to KESCO, National Transmission & Dispatch Company team have started work on resorting the damaged towers. Electricity supply was cut in Quetta, Mustang, Qalat, Khuzdar, Kharan, Nushki, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Bolan, Ziarat, Barani and Sherani.According to reports restoration of electricity is going to take approximately 4 days. The province is facing up to 1 megawatt of electricity shortfall due to which there is a 12 hour electricity load shedding in Quetta and in some areas the load shedding is up to 20 to 22 hours.Due to the gas pipeline explosion near Dera Murad Jamali, gas supply in the province is also disturbed. CNG stations will remain closed for 3 days. The residents are facing difficultly as electricity and gas supply has been disrupted. Sources say that the restoration of gas supply will take one more day.The non availability of gas is creating lots of problems for the people. Sui Southern Gas Company said that the gas supply has been cut because of the explosion of the gas pipeline near the Shori. The work has not yet started to fix the flow of gas and due to that the people in quetta and other regions will not have gas supply in the next few days.
