Summary As many as 32 security personnel were killed and 40 were injured in Mardan blast. The explosion took place in Mardan Cantonment, Dunya news reported on Thursday.
As per details, an explosion occurred in Punjab Regiment, in which 27security officials were killed while 40 were injured. The blast was occurred during a military parade. The blast was so powerful that it shattered the windowpanes of the cantonment areas’ buildings. According to the sources the blast was suicide. Emergency has been declared in the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and injured persons have been shifted to the hospital. Police have cordon of the area. According to DCO Mardan, 27 were killed while 40 others were injured due to the blast. ISPR has also confirmed that minimum 20 were killed.
