Khurshid Shah urges NA speaker to issue Dasti's production order

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA), Khurshid Shah has written to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq seeking production order for Jamshed Dasti after the lawmaker was held by police in case over forceful opening of canal in Muzaffargarh.

The opposition leader and vice-chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Central Jail Multan to meet the held lawmaker but weren t permitted however while talking to the media, Khurshid Shah branded the action a vengeance act.

Political activists staged a demonstration in Muzaffargarh against Dasti’s detention whereas Javed Hashmi, former PTI leader also paid a visit to Multan jail but was not allowed to see the Member of National Assembly (MNA).

Hashmi branded the jail worse than prisons with “black waters” as in contrast, according to him, meetings were allowed in those.

It is to be mentioned here that Jamshed Dasti breached the authority and forcibly opened a canal on May 28 after which irrigation department lodged a case against the MNA.

Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif also took notice of the incident and directed stern action against Dasti.
