Exam papers leaked through Indian mobile numbers, claims Sindh Education Minister

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Education Minister Jam Mehtab Dahar has on Saturday claimed that Indian cellular phone numbers are involved in leaking the intermediate exam papers through WhatsApp groups.

As per details, Jam Mehtab Dahar has told that investigative institutions have started their inquiries regarding this matter. The education minister further said that the services of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Sindh police’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have also been taken to investigate this case.

According to sources, people use Indian SIMs in Mithi and Tharparkar which are the areas of interior Sindh, and these mobile numbers most likely belong to those areas. However, the facts will only be revealed after the investigations.

It is pertinent here to mention that rampant cheating has been observed across Sindh since the start of SSC examinations. The false practice did not stop despite the notice of Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah, and is continuing to persist even in the intermediate exams.

Students openly use key books, helping materials and mobile phones to answer the questions. It has further been unearthed that solved papers are sent in WhatsApp groups, and students pay money to get memberships of these groups.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari‏, the daughter of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, has also spoken on this issues and said there needs to be stricter rules to prevent students from cheating easily cheating. A start should be banning mobiles from exam rooms, she said.
