IHC adjourns hearing of blasphemous content case till March 31

Summary Interior Secretary told the court that at least three suspects have been arrested in the case.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court on Monday has adjourned the hearing of blasphemous content case till March 31.

According to details, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui conducted the hearing during which Interior Secretary told the court that at least three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.

The judge remarked that government has left everything on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar. He further asked State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman to justify why the matter has not been resolved yet.

Meanwhile, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that it’s a big achievement that Facebook authorities have removed profane content from their website on our appeal.

On the other hand, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have blocked 937 Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) and 10 websites of Proscribed Organizations (POs) against abuse of Internet and Social Media.

The agencies concerned also sealed 70 shops and confiscated 5,141 equipment.
